Those Who Dare is a tabletop role-playing game that spans the entire breadth of human history, from the dawn of civilization to the far reaches of space. • A universal system spanning 12 distinct ages across four eras: Ancient (Stone, Bronze, Classical), Iron (Middle Ages, Renaissance, Age of Sail), Modern (Industrial, Progressive, Computer), and Futuristic (Diamond, Space, Zenith)—mix and match to create alternate histories where Roman legions face modern tanks or space marines discover medieval kingdoms.
• Character creation using four core aptitudes: Dangerous (combat prowess), Fitness (physical capability), Cognition (intellectual capacity), and Psyche (social acumen).
• A streamlined d6 dice pool system that emphasizes narrative flow over complex calculations—successes drive the story forward while partial successes keep momentum alive.
• Roguelike character progression where meaningful character endings reward the entire community, unlocking new abilities, higher starting attributes, and unique legacy items for future generations of heroes. Play as the descendants of your previous characters, inheriting their legacy items and accumulated wisdom.
